Why it matters

South Maui is condo country

Much of Kīhei and Wailea is condos, so many claims start with one question: is this the association’s claim, mine, or both? The answer depends on where the damage started, the association’s governing documents and two different policies.

Salt air, sun and humidity also wear on roofs, windows and plumbing. Insurers may call damage wear and tear when a storm or a sudden leak was the real cause, so documentation matters.

Common questions

Kīhei & South Maui FAQs

Yes. Condo claims are some of the most common we see in South Maui. We help unit owners with HO-6 claims and associations with master policy claims, and we explain where one ends and the other begins.
Often you start with your own HO-6 policy and notify the association and the other owner, but the answer depends on the source of the water and your association documents. We can review the details with you.
Often, yes. Ask for the decision in writing, with the policy language it relies on, and document when and how the damage appeared. A storm or sudden leak can cause damage that looks like wear at first glance.
Yes. We work with boards and managers on building, roof and common-area claims under the master policy.
A public adjuster works for you, the policyholder, not the insurance company. We read your policy, document the damage, prepare the claim and handle the back-and-forth with your insurer. Your insurer’s adjuster works for the insurer.
You tell us what happened and send whatever you have: photos, your policy, letters or estimates from the insurer. We explain what we see, what may be missing and what to document next. If we can help, we explain in writing how we are paid before you sign anything. If you do not need us, we say so.
