Island Claims respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect on island.claims and lala.claims, how we use it, and the choices you have. Effective September 25, 2026.
Who we are
Island Claims is a licensed Hawaii public adjusting firm (Hawaii Public Adjuster License #553921) based in Haiku, Maui and serving all Hawaiian Islands. What we collect
- Information you give us — when you request a Complimentary Claim Review, subscribe to the Island Claims Bulletin, book an appointment, call, text, or email us: your name, email address, phone number, island and property type, the kind of review you need, a description of the damage, any photos or documents you upload, and your insurance details if you share them.
- Information collected automatically — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, referring site and campaign tags (for example a link from lala.claims), collected through Google Analytics 4 cookies and similar technologies. We exclude our own office traffic and filter bot traffic.
- Conversation data — if you use our website chat, text or call our business number, the content of those conversations is stored in our customer relationship management (CRM) system so we can help you.
How we use it
- To respond to your request, schedule and conduct your complimentary review, and — if you engage us — to handle your insurance claim.
- To send appointment confirmations and reminders, document requests, and status updates about your own claim.
- To send the Island Claims Bulletin (storm-recovery and insurance-claim education) if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- To understand how our website is used and improve it.
- To meet our legal, licensing, and record-keeping obligations.
Text messaging (SMS) program
If you check the consent box on one of our forms, reply to a text from us, or ask us to text you, you agree to receive text messages from Island Claims at the number you provided. Messages relate to your request and claim: scheduling, reminders, document requests, and status updates — and, if you subscribed, occasional Bulletin updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time and HELP for help, or contact us at (808) 808-3778 or aloha@island.claims. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of receiving our services.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use-case categories exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with service providers who help us operate — website hosting (Hostinger), email (Google Workspace), our CRM, messaging and scheduling platform (HighLevel / LeadConnector, including its telephony providers), and analytics (Google Analytics) — under agreements that limit their use of your data to providing those services;
- with your insurance carrier, contractors, or other parties involved in your claim, at your direction and as part of representing you;
- when required by law, regulation, subpoena, or the Hawaii Insurance Division.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site traffic. Google may set cookies and process usage data under its own privacy policy. You can limit cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Retention and security
We keep inquiry and claim records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet Hawaii public adjuster record-keeping requirements, then delete or anonymize them. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the Bulletin via the link in any email.
- Reply STOP to opt out of texts.
- Ask us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you by emailing aloha@island.claims. We'll respond as required by applicable law.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
