Your Kailua-Kona public adjuster

Island Claims is a licensed Hawaiʻi public adjusting firm helping Kona homeowners, condo owners, coffee farms and businesses with wind, roof, water and rental property claims. A public adjuster works for you, not the insurance company. We read your policy, document the damage and explain your options in plain English.

Why it matters

Kona’s storms come from the south

West Hawaiʻi is usually dry and calm, which makes storm damage a surprise. During the March 2026 Kona Low, winds tore parts of the roofs off two Aliʻi Drive businesses and gusted to 79 mph at the Kona airport.

Still sorting out damage from the March 2026 Kona Low? See our Kona Low storm claim help and the full Kona Low claim guide.

Many Kona properties are condos or rentals, so a single storm can mean a unit-owner claim, an association claim and a loss of rental income all at once. We keep each part organized.

Common questions

Kailua-Kona FAQs

Yes. Island Claims serves all of Hawaiʻi Island. We start with a complimentary review by phone or video, and schedule an inspection on the island when your claim needs one.
Some policies include fair rental value or loss of rents coverage, and some rental or landlord policies list it separately. Check your declarations page and keep records of bookings that were cancelled.
Damage from waves and rising water is usually treated as flood and often needs a flood policy. Wind damage from the same storm may fall under homeowners or a hurricane policy. Each needs its own documentation.
Yes. We work with boards and managers on building, roof and common-area claims under the master policy.
A public adjuster works for you, the policyholder, not the insurance company. We read your policy, document the damage, prepare the claim and handle the back-and-forth with your insurer. Your insurer’s adjuster works for the insurer.
You tell us what happened and send whatever you have: photos, your policy, letters or estimates from the insurer. We explain what we see, what may be missing and what to document next. If we can help, we explain in writing how we are paid before you sign anything. If you do not need us, we say so.
